Today, January 1, I begin my journey to tell the story of the people living in poverty . For the next month I will be challenged to find a place to live and survive on $610 a month, the income assistance amount designated for a single person who is expected to work.
Over the month, I will meet with people living in poverty and on welfare, listen to their stories and share those stories with British Columbians. If you would like to follow my journey you can find more information at www.mlaonwelfare.com.
